"Como tú Abuela lo hacía"

With its earthly and aromatic fragrance Cinnamon is an ancient spice mentioned several times in the Old Testament. While the tree is said to be of the moon, the spice is of the sun and has long been hailed as a preserver of life. In Egypt cinnamon was used for both medicinal purposes as well as for flavoring. The largest importer of Sri Lankan cinnamon is Mexico, where it is served as freshly brewed tea, added to coffee, chocolate and in Mexican mole sauces. It is also used as an astringent and antiseptic which is why many mouthwashes are cinnamon flavored. In the ancient world cinnamon was precious…and still is.
